Banff is Canada’s National Park,
located in Alberta’s Rocky
Mountains, which celebrated its 140th birthday
in November, 2025.
Its history begins way far back, over 10,000 years ago.
Many First Nations lived here and called this place “Home”.
When the work on CPR (Canada’s Pacific Railway) began,
workers
found nature in the Mountains in Alberta,
later it’ll be called “Sulphur Mountain”. However,
in 1885,
Canada’s government decided to make a reserve.
It was called
“Rokay Mountain Park Of Canada”.
A century ago, people had different ideas of what a park is.
Somebody used it for hunting, mining or earning money.
Now, Banff park welcomes over 4 million visitors every year.
